ok so DD has always been a excellent sleeper, has always "self settled", never had a issue when putting her down etc...

she has always had a dummy and her "puppy" comforter when she gets put to bed and at no other times....

the last few weeks things have changed, as they do when bubs get older

DD is now 7 months too....

she has realised you can take your dummy out and play with it, the problem being getting it back in and the right way, which she cant do which then equals her getting more tired and frustrated, resulting in her getting upset.

ive tried giving her a extra dummy in her hand so she doesnt take out the one in her mouth but it didnt work

i end up going in to her every 5 mins to put the dummy in till she goes to sleep, usually takes about 20 mins.

now i know its not for everyone BUT we find DD responds pretty well to a bit onf controlled crying, the more i go in the more worked up she gets so obviously letting her go a bit is better for us as she calms down a bit...

is it worth getting rid of the dummy now rather than later??

if so how do i do it??? cold turkey, gradually??

ta, crumpet xx
