My DS is 11 months old and still wakes 2-3 times/night...
I'm wondering if he's cold.
He has a long sleeved body suit under an easy suit and then a 2.5 TOG grobag. I also put baby legs (the leg warmer things) on his arms.
It's been really cold in Perth (as it sounds like it has been everywhere) and he's often waking in the morning sneezing and his little chest feels a bit cold (certainly not nice and toasty!)
So...I'm wondering whether using a blanket over the grobag is worthwhile. I know the makers of grobag don't recommend it...but just wondering if anyone has tried it...
I am in Perth also and I use a sleepsuit but not a grobag brand. It is 1 tog I think, and I also have on DD: a singlet, long sleeve bodysuit, all in one pjs, a sheet, a wool blanket and two brushed cotton blankets. If I feed her during the night (usually do!) then I also turn on her oil column heater at about 3 or 4 am. Not really answering your qu but just giving you an idea of someone in the same location. You could try a blanket on top. Just check how he feels when waking up...
Hi there
I am in Vic where it is pretty cold and atm I dress my little guy as follows:
Singlet
Long sleeved onsie (cotton no legs)
Flannellette PJS top and bottom
socks
He sleeps through so I am guessing he is warm enough?
I did try a blanket last year - he kept wriggling out of it and I kept stressing I would find him head under the blanket!
The layering seems to have done the trick.
Good luck

We are in Melbourne so at the moment down to 6 ish at night, but even on a 15 degree night izzy will have a s/s jumpsuit, socks, a polar fleecy Bonds jumpsuit, a 2.5 grobag, plus a flannel sheet, a cotton blanket and a polar fleece blanket over the top all tucked in! SOunds like heaps but she is never overheated, but isn't a hot baby generally so we find it works for us. If we used the Grobag recommendations even for 16 degrees (which it was when she was a newborn - we had a heater in her room at 16) she would get cold. I would trial a blanket over him and tuck it all in around him and see how he goes.
tonight here its ment to get down to around 1 degree, DD is wearing
singlet
cotton spencer,
cotton pj's
2.5 tog sleeper siuy
sheet plus 3 cotton blankets
