FWIW I took my DS to get a haircut because it was so flyaway but he still didn't really have a full head of hair, it was so fine and curly and you could still see his scalp easily.

It was once I started getting it cut that it really thickened up and started growing like crazy. I always thought that was a bit of a myth but it isn't - I would get it trimmed and neatened up and then sit back and watch your DD's hair grow! I really truly don't think it was a coincidence, I had to take him back for his second cut after only 6 weeks and he was 20 months old for his first haircut.

I took him to see my own hairdresser who has a lovely sweet gentle nature with kids and he loves her. I trusted her to cut his hair so that it looked nice (I didn't really know what I wanted to do with it either) and she point-cut it to bring out his curls. A hairdresser will probably have a couple of suggestions for you if you don't know what to do with it.
