Kelly, I really like the sound of PET, but from what you are saying about active listening, that only really works with kids who can communicate effectively. DS is starting to throw tanties, and only being 16 months old, he can't talk yet, so getting to the bottom of his temper is something of a guessing game. Does PET address meeting the needs of younger toddlers as well? Thanks!
