That particular type of amber releases an oil when in contact with the heat of the body which is a natural pain reliever, as well as having many other benefits. You can get them very easily from several websites (maybe look in the BB marketplace, I'm sure someone on here must sell them!), and I paid about $30 for DS's. I am thinking of getting one for myself! I have definately noticed a difference in DS's teething experiences pre and post necklace.
