How many words at 18 months?

I've counted approximately 30 for my almost-17 month old and she's parroting the last word of a sentence/phrase too.

My oldest had about 200 words by 18 months, using 2-3 word sentences. Dd1 had around 5-6 at that age. Dd2 had hundreds and was using 4-5 word sentences. Even within a family they can be so different so it seems irrelevant to compare to others.

Mine have all been varied. DD3 at 13 months has a good dozen or so already. DD1 didn't have a single word until after 2. DD2 somewhere around a dozen or so. DD1 who had no words now has far far too many ;-)

Mine have all communicated well, while not talking, and with the exception of DD3 who has done both, the first two were far more precocious with physical milestones rather than verbal ones.

At 18 months its expected that they will have 5-10 words that they can say but understand many more words and talk in baby jabber as well.
Can child obey simple instructions? Points to body parts when asked??
