Thank you everyone for your reassurance and advice.. things have calmed down alot. I phoned the hospital and got some advice from the emergency department. They said I would be waiting 5-6 hours for a doctor as it was not life threatening. I couldnt believe it, DH ended up leaving work early to come home as he was worried sick. I went out with DD in the can and drove for 40 mins to find an open pharmacy and got some panadol. I fond the drive really calmed her down and she was fast asleep again when we got home. She woke up and could move her arm slightly. Usually when i give her a toy she brings it straight to her mouth, but she just holds it by her side and dosent move. I try to give her toys but she dosent pick the arm up and if I put the toy in her hand she can't grip with it very well. She is in her swing next to me right now and one arm is playing with the toys and the other is just limp by her side. However she has stopped crying, without me giving her panadol, but at leastI have it on hand if she needs it tonight. I am still worried about the limited use of her arm and also the grip of her fingers is no where near as tight as the uninjured arm when i give her tihngs to hold but she has stopped crying altogther so i am less panicced. I will go see the GP tomorrow if it hasnt improved.
Thanks so much for everyones responses, bellybelly is a valuable resource for support and advice :hugs: to everyone
Jen
EDIT: Actually i might take her to the paeditrition ... maybe a better idea.
