    Labelling bubs clothes for hospital?

I have a friend who needs to do this, and is unsure of the best way. Something that won't look crap on the clothes, and won't irritate the baby is ideal obviously!

She asked me for advice, but I really am hopeless with this sort of thing, so I'm turning to all you BB lovelies for help! She is going to St V's in Melb, I know there's a few on here who have had their bub there so maybe they'll be able to help

Initially, I used perm marker to write on the tags... then decided it was too difficult to write our long last name on it... so I used a few less liked items and wrote direct on the fabric... but you could see it through the fabric (if that makes sense!) which I didn't like. In the end, I gave up. I had DD at St V's and decided that since I was going to be in a room on my own and I knew DD wouldn't be in SCN - I didn't worry about it. When she went to SCN straight after the c-sec - they wrapped her in the hospital blankets anyway - no baby clothes. When she went to the nursery on one of the nights I was in, I just took her out of our wrap and wrapped her in one of the many hospital blankets they had left under her crib. No drama's!
Looking back, although I was happy with my decision, I might next time order some StuckonYou labels with out last name and wrap around the tag... but I imagine that might irritate?

In fabric shops (Tetxtile Traders, Lincraft, Spotlight) you get blank clothes labels that you iron on and write on in marker. They oron on flat with no sticky up bits and you could put them under the tag at the neck. Or cut them in half and just write in tiny writing!
