Cry Baby Cinema Session With 8 Month Old?

It's been a long time since I took DD to a cry baby session at the cinema but I have two friends with newborns so I'm thinking it would be a good thing to do.

But I'm not sure how DD will handle it - when she was really little it was fine, but now she's 8 months old I think she may be antsy. Yes, I know this sounds a bit silly because the idea is to watch the film EVEN IF your baby is crying but I hate the thought of DD being bored for 1.5 hours just so I can watch a movie.

Has anyone else taken an older baby to the pictures and if so, did you find your baby was happy to look at the screen/at you etc?

DD is crawling so I could put her on the floor but obviously then I'd probably be staring at the floor rather than the screen to make sure she wasn't straying too far.

I take DS to them regularly but find I need to sit at the bottom so he can crawl around....he loves it though. Sometimes I sit there with him. He doesn't like it when we sit towards the top as he can't move around!!!!

The times we've been there, most of the littlies have appeared to quite enjoy the experience, being in the semi dark, all those fun stairs, etc! I reckon you should just give it a go and see how you get on, and if it's a disaster, try again another day. Gotta keep your cinema up!

I take Harrison all the time!!
Thankfully he has his nap around 10:30 which is the time that the Babes in Arms sessions start at my local cinema... Last week though, we went to see Drillbit Taylor which wasn't a babes session, and he was happy enough sitting on my lap, drinking his sippy cup and watching the movie... he even had a laugh during one funny scene.
