Aden and Anais makes a dream blanket, not for swaddling, but as a cozy blanket for bed time, I think, and "winter warmth" swaddling blankets of 6 (?) layers of muslin, and regular swaddling blankets which are, I think, 2 ply. They are REALLY cute! But all are pretty expensive. The dream blanket is somewhere around $29, the winter warmth ones are $39 for a two pack, and the regular ones are $49 for a 4 pack. All US funds. That's about what I'm finding on e-bay anyways.
And apparently these are made by two Aussie mums who moved to the US and wanted to find blankets like what they had in Aus, but couldn't. So they designed and marketed their own. So, they are Aus in origin, sort of, but not actually made in Aus, as I thought they were at first.
The ones I was curious about were the regular ones. I was half hoping that they would be available cheaply in Australia, and that even with the shipping cost, they would still be a better deal. But it seems from what I can find that the actual A&A blankets cost just as much in Aus as they do in Canada.
I'm looking at the mother's forums from around here (North America)now to see if I can find any second hand. The hunt is half the fun, right?
