we had this on and off when DD was a young baby...can be sooo frustrating!
just some brainstorming ideas...
can you maybe just try short trips around the block to get her used it? we would give DD a big feed, pop her in the pram and head off for an early morning walk. and basically, no matter what, we had to be home by 3pm otherwise it would all go downhill fast...so we planned to do most of our outings in the morning.
have you tried covering the pram? sometimes it can be mega sensory overload and a cover (like a muslin wrap pegged on the canopy) can be enough to block all the light and stuff....
ah, i just remembered something we used to do...we had to swaddle DD in the pram (she had a bassinette). otherwise it was crazy banshee instead of baby lol! is there anyway that she can be swaddled (if you swaddle of course!)?
what i was going suggest is try putting her in her pram in the house, when she is awake or carry her in your baby bjorn whilst walking around in the house. Get her used to it first.
I was going to suggest baby wearing over using the pram. Maybe she would be happier if you had that contact. & also to keep any trips out as short as possible.
We had the same problem with DD2. We tried the pram and the baby bjorn harness but it wasn't until I borrowed a pram from a friend that lets baby sit facing you, instead of facing away, that it really got any better.
The other day I managed to shop for around 3 hours while DD happily sat and watched me!
Hi girls,
Thank you so much for your suggestions.
This morning I swaddled Lily and popped her in the pram (bassinette) I also covered the bassinette and pegged it down, it seemed to work and I was able to walk around the block twice!! I might try this every morning and see how we go. Tomorrow I will carry her in the baby bjorn whilst at home.
well there's a step forward! hope it goes well with the carrier! have to say that with DD it took a bit for her to get used to it (we used a sling and had her upright in the end). i also think that being close the milk machines (.y.) caused some *issues* lol! she just would go crazy being that close to the food lol!
