We went out last night to my BIL's 50th and I gave DS one of the frozen meals I give him when we're not cooking (chicken veggie soup) before we went out. He stayed home with grandma and she later called to say he refused his last milk bottle (he has done this with her in the past, he has no probs having the last bottle usually, unless the time between dinner and the last bottle is short therefore he isn't hungry). Anyhoo, he's been sick for the last two weeks with a cold, mainly coughing and lately the runny nose started (no temp or being off food). So when we got home at around 11.30 mum was trying to settle him as he woke up but was unable to do so. He often wakes up around 10.30-11.30 and I am usually unable to put him back to sleep and end up taking him to bed with us. He was farting away like a trooper and was pretty fidgety when I took him to bed with us, and then around 2 am he started coughing and then he appeared to be choking on what I though was a bit of mucus (I though he brough it up whilst coughing) but it was the chicken soup. The poor thing freaked himself out and tried to swallow it when his body was trying expel it. I eventually settled him but he was really tossing around in the bed and he again woke up coughing at around 4 am and this time it was this yellowy liguid he vomited. We just woke up at 8 am and he again started to cough with more vomit. I can hear this gurgling sound in his tummy when he's coughing. What could it be????? Do you think the soup was off? It's been in the freezer for a few weeks but I have done the whole cooking and freezing thing before mainly for emergency meals and he's been OK. Or do you think it's gastro?? The coughing doesn't appear to be any worse than in the last week or so. Should I take him to the doctor?
