When I leave ds somewhere (daycare, nanna - with someone he knows) I feel terrible for leaving him, heartbroken I can't spend the time with him. He goes on his way and calls out BYE! in a happy tone with his back to me. lol least I know he's happy
We had the same thing on friday night coming home after having had dinner out. DD just lost it in the car but there wasn't much we could do because we had another 20 minutes till we were home. We stopped the car twice for cuddles but it just made her worse - I think because she knew that she wasn't at home. I sat next to her in the back and sang nursery rhymes at the top of my voice but even THAT didn't calm her. I felt soooooo guilty!!!
Thanks everyone, hopefully next time will go a bit smoother. I got really good vibes from this creche, so i definitely think he was just completely overstimulated. Being school holidays it was a bit of a madhouse too, and he has never been in that sort of environment before. Next time i am going to hand him over asleep in his capsule and time it to go back just as he wakes up, no reason to make him try and get used to it so early on. I think i can limit it to one creche visit per week for a while and just go one night, one weekend day and have mum look after him during lunchtime on one of DD's preschool days.
Snowy Love, i was pretty reluctant to leave DD at swimming as well, but i was watching her through the glass and the minute i went out of sight she was absolutely fine! I was a bit shocked, when i went back in she didn't see me for a bit and then the second she saw me the waterworks started... She then went on to play swimming lessons with her dolls all afternoon, and the dolls were all having a great time so i can't help but think that it was all a bit of a show.
Aww hun your not a bad mum
I remember the first time I went to Gym and put Ds1 in the care...OMG They came and got me right near the end of the class and said he was upset...well upset was an understatment he was hysterical and they had him in a highchair letting my poor baby scream his little heart out...he never went back...as it goes against all my parenting ways...broke my heart So I totally understand...just do what feels right hun x
As for the swimming I dont see why they force babies who are clearly unhappy to do the lesson...we take the kids out if they are upset and would never leave them when they are distressed.
but like I said follow your heart and instincts xx
