Osteopathy for little bubs?

Feeb I see you are in melbourne - The Vic Uni osteopathy school in Flinders Lane Melbourne has the most wonderful infant osteo practitioner. I think she sees kids on Mondays and it only costs around $20 a treatment. Your bub will basically de a demonstration model for the students - no kids get to work on bub, just the teacher. She is really lovely and I have had great results with both my boys. And cheaply!! Number is 9248 1111.

I am considering taking my little one to see a cranio sacral osteo this week! I can let you know how it goes, unless you get there first - then please let me know how you go!!!

I have an awesome Osteo who helped do some gentle re-alignement with me prior to giving birth (I was going for a VBAC and wanted to cover ALL bases to make sure it all worked out!) It was such fantastic treatment and I think worked really well. She specialises in babies and children and is in CBD Melbourne if you are looking for a referral.

I took DD to an osteo when she was 4 months old after a suggestion from the MCHN. DD had a pretty decent flat spot on her head and I wanted to try and avoid any serious issues if I could. Her head shape changed very quickly. She was also a spewy bub and for a few days after her osteo appt she would be relatively spew free. It didn't get rid of it completely though for her.
The osteo was lovely and had I known more when DS was little, I would have had him checked over aswell.

DS was delivered with forceps so we took him to the osteo for a look over when he was around 4 weeks. It was for my own peace of mind more than anything, he was fine. We saw a paed osteo in Malvern.

Clare Gordon used to work in the BB Pregnancy Centre and has now opened her own practice. Malvern I think - she does cranio sacral work and babies and pregnant women really respond well to this. Saw many happy clients (and their mummies)

I haven't been able to get an appointment yet! The days are just slipping away from me as they do with a newborn.
Let me know how things go... I'd love to hear what you think and what you see in the response from your DD. As the person tuned in to her your thoughts on how she responds will be interesting.

I took my 8 week old bub to the osteo today. She said her neck was fine but she had sensitive areas in her lower tummy and lower spine. The osteo did some gentle manipulation thingys and we are back home.

My little one is really unsettled this arvo and not sure if it is just cos of little sleep today or whether the osteopathy may have wiggled something and she is uncomfortable or just feels different. Are your kids unsettled immediately after a session?

Mine went to a chiro, not osteo, but sometimes they were a little unsettled after a session - come to think of it, it was their first session that they would seem unsettled, but they would usually be much happier the day after. I found they reacted better after the next sessions - maybe the initial adjustment makes the most changes and that's why they are a bit out of sorts?

If your bub is still unsettled tomorrow, give the osteo a call and ask for their advice.
