Hello everyone

Well, we took DS for a drive up to the hills (little hills) on the weekend just past. The weekend before DS was suffering from molars coming through - so sleep was not well known to us.

When we stopped on the way home I noticed heaps of pus (TMI) pouring out of poor DS's ear. I freaked out!! DH said, wait until we're home and we'll take him to the ER at home.

So, last Saturday we spent 5 1/2 hours in the A&E waiting to see a Dr. We didn't see one until 10pm and didn't get DS to bed until 10:45pm. He was totally hyped and did not sleep a wink all night - so poor thing had a perforated ear drum and was extremely tired.

His is now on antibiotics and ear drops. He is VERY well in himself (I swear he has become a real cheeky monkey) and you wouldn't even know he had a crook ear drum. Apparently the drive to the hills caused the ear drum to burst and let the pus run free. He wasn't in pain when it happened, but the Dr said this was probably because it felt like a huge relief.

My question is, has anyone here had their two year old on antibiotics? DS has been crapping up a storm - we've gone from maybe two a day - to a full nappy every couple of hours. Now he is getting nappy rash from all the bum wiping.

So, because of his perforated ear drum he has nappy rash - doesn't make much sense, does it?

PS. His ear drum is repairing nicely and apparently happens a lot. I just want to know if the poo is common.
