The reason that you will be told not to give panadol prior to an immunisation, is because it can mask a reaction.

This is not scare mongering, so please don't think it is, I am just telling you what my MCHN told me, because I asked her about it for DS.
She does the council immunistaions, and they had one baby who fell into a really deep sleep after the immunisations, and becuase the mum had given panadol prior to the shot, apparently it made it harder to tell what was going on.
