    Unhappy Runny snotty nose....

Izzy has come down with a runny, snotty nose since last night. It just hit all of a sudden while she was feeding. She was pretty miserable last night but is happy today - but shes really snuffly. I have Fess - but the aspirator seems to be for mucous (TMI sorry) right in her nostril -while the drops for a blocked nose - so neither seem to do much right now.

Its actually more loose congestion than runny or blocked (it doesnt run out)
Is there anything else I can do?? I've slightly raised her cot mattress so it will drip out rather than back. I guess Im lucky shes happy enough and this is the first time she has been sick since born. Any tips from you gorgeous mamas would be great.
    TIA

    Hey Tan,

Sorry to hear Izzy is sick... poor little poppet!! Oscar has been sick since our first week home ie. snotty nose and a bit congested in his chest. He is getting better now but our Dr said that he just has to wait it out and it could take up to 6 weeks. I know Izzy is older so this may not apply?!? He did say though that if he is in pain to give him some panadol and to raise his bed as you said to let it "drain".

    HTH?!?!?

My little girl is 3 months old and she had a cold about 2 weeks ago but the blocked up nose just wont go away. I have found rubbing a tiny bit of vicks on the side of her bassinet helps her breath easier at night. It is frustrating trying to feed her though.

Hope your little one gets better soon!

Dimetapp for infants is great. And I it can be used from 1 month. I didn't even know it existed till a few weeks ago and it really is a godsend. Seth has had runny nose after runny nose and it really has helped.

    *hugs*
