Hi, we are starting to develop major tantrums. DD2 is 3 and 1 month and has not had tantrums until the last month. They are so severe now that they last up to 45 mins and she can't get out of them. Just screams and screams and goes crazy. Doesn't really hurt anyone, but may try to lash out once or twice, but relatively gently.
I just don't know what to do. Im trying to be really calm, although that was almost impossible this morning. Tantrum started at 6.30am and I have another daughter sleeping, it just gets too much. Even neighbours walking by looked in.
Im sure she's extra tired. For the last month or 2 she's been taking ALOT longer to get to sleep at night (has gone from sleeping by 7.30pm to sleep by 9pm..even though she is in bed at 7pm). She is definitely tired but I cannot make her sleep. Drugging is tempting, but not an option.
Just wondered if anyone had been through similar and if there's anything I can do about it. Triggers seem to be wanting an object or wanting to do something. it started today because she wanted her cousins to go swimming with her (at 6.30am) they are due to visit at 10am.....
