She may be slow thriving in weight but she is thriving in other ways.
Emily started pulling herself up onto furniture 5 days ago. Today she starting walking along it . She also let go of the box and stood up alone for a few seconds . We have had a lot of stress due to Emily being put down as "Failure to thrive" having to see pediatricians and I'm so proud of my baby girl, she may be little 6.3kgs but she is a very determined little girl.
DD was almost the eaxact same weight as your DD at the same age, but she was prem so they weren't concerned about her weight as much, as she had gone from being 1kg below the charts to hitting the 1st%ile it at 6 months, I couldn't imagine what she would have looked like walking along the couch at that age
yay emily! our girls are about the same age and are the same weight! my DD hasnt been classed as failure to thrive, how interesting! my MCHN isnt at all worried about her either, i voiced my concerns about her weight but she said its ok!
but DD2 is nowhere near pulling herself up onto things yet!
That's great! My DS was the same weight as your little one at 6 months and no one was ever concerned about it. The MCHN nurse just said he was just a little bub (still is) and most certainly never saw a paed about it. Very interesting.
Skybie & allycat - thats weird. The MCHN nurse was making us go in every week for her to be weighed, then she had to see the GP and then he sent her to the paed. He thinks she is okay, just little but she has to go back again in July. It been very stressful. Maybe its because she had a high birth weight 9lbs1oz What was your babies birth weights?
Yowie FWIW DS was 9lb1oz at birth too and had only just cracked 6kg at 6months.....maybe my MCHN was too scared to suggest FTT??? I think your DD is going great guns.
Great news!!
Good to hear that she is doing so well!!
What a beautiful, petite, little girl you must have!
My little man was born 9lb 10oz, and weighed in at 8.1kg at his 4 month check up lol
Its all got to do with genes! She is clearly doing very well, you should be proud
