But to what we don't know!!!! Yesterday dd came up very quickly in a rash (like little bites) on her face. Pics put on fb asking for help yielded slap face or a reaction. The rash went as quickly as it came so not slap face.
Today it came back after her sleep on her face, quite bad. Off to the docs and by then it was over a lot of her body. Doc says hives but of course can't say what caused it. She hadn't tried any new foods that I can think of. I thought maybe dust mites??? We moved some furniture around and stirred up heaps of dust.
My concern is if it is a reaction particularly to a food then next time it could be worse. Does that happen???

Have you changed washing powder lately?

I ask that cause you said it appeared after her sleep then got worse. Or it could, as you suggest be dust mites. If its food youll need to eliminate that. A skin-scratch test to test allergins maybe helpful in determining what it is that is causing the reaction.

I was going to suggest the washing powder too, the same thing happened to DD and that was what we could track it down too. Try and think of what she has done just before it came up, did she play outside have a shower etc.

DD had a similar reaction when I accidentally washed her sheets and pyjamas in the washing powder for DP's uniform. Also had a reaction when I used a different bath wash on her.

No new washing powder that's the thing! Its very strange. Dh said he gave her some apricot danish jsut before it came up but she has had those before. I'm racking my brains trying to thing what it could be!

Dh had a similar reaction to washing powder as well, it was everywhere that his clothing touched him, turned into one big hive!

Oh Ezymay I'm sorry to hear she got hives! With us, DS came out in hives a few times (all over) and we didn't ever work out what it was... but we did end up doing skin pr!ck allergy tests which showed up some food allergies. Once we stopped the offending foods... no more hives (even though I never worked out if there was a direct link with the food at the time of the hives - unless he happened to get a batch of EBM full of that particular food!?!?). We were also prescribed (eventually) zyrtec drops for if he got them - cos he was a very unhappy little chappy at the time. A cold flannel also seemed to help relieve the itching a bit.

As far as I can tell, no issues with our washing power so far!
