Firstly please dont be so hard on yourself, it's not easy dealing with toddlers who are throwing tantys all the time . I understand how frustrating it can be at times.

The best thing you could probably do at the moment is try and explain to him in age appropriate terms as to why he can't do whatever it is he is trying to do( in this case pull the pictures off the book pages). If he doesn't settle down remove the book or problem from him and walk away and leave him to think about it for a minute.
