Red face very red and swollen teste! TMI.

    HI

Today i took DS (6months) to the hospital as over the last week one of his testes has been red, i kept an eye on it, incase it was just from his nappy or the hot weather or something in his diet, but when i got him up this morning it was tomato red, shiny and a little swollen so i rang the hospital and they said just keep an eye on him and if it gets worse or painful/tender or ds gets distressed then go see them, well i went any way as it never changed and i was really concerned, and they really didn't give me a straight answer, but they said there was fluid, and they weren't sure what it could be, maybe thrush. they gave me some antifungal cream to mix with his nappy rash paste and said to apply it with every nappy change and if there's no change to go back or see a dr.

Can anyone give me any ideas what this could possibly be?

Its only on his teste, he is in no pain(i dont think), no temp, still happy and eating well and theres no sign of nappy rash.

    TIA

I'm not sure either.... but I hope it clears up soon. Maybe you should make an appointment at your regular GP for later in the week just in case (you can always cancel if you don't need it) that way, you know you've definately got an appointment if you do need it.

could be chafe(sp). If it is not swallon but only red, i reckon that his urine has burnt his teste and has rubbed it somehow till its red raw. Keep up with the nappy cream or even bepetadene- anything soothing- but if the teste looks swallon, not just red- might be worth a second opinion
