If you just want anecdotes then my third was bigger. But my second was smaller. My midwife at the time said 2nd bubs are generally bigger if they are a boy, but can be smaller if they are a girl - which she was. Then my 3rd was bigger and my 4th was bigger again. They were 4.18, 3.85, 4.32 and 4.56

All born a few days shy of 40 weeks. First birth (my smallest baby) was very difficult, obstructed labour, failed ventouse, forceps delivery and an episiotomy. Second delivery was easier with a small tear, third bub pretty much fell out with a couple of pushes, minor tear.

You bake em pretty good too Trillian!!

That's interesting about boy/girl. Are boys generally bigger?

Nickle that sounds like my first two... wonder if my third will match your third?

Generally boys can be bigger, but not always. A friend of mine had a DD who was about 8lb5 I think, then she had her second not long after I had my first and he was 8lb13, but then her next baby, also a boy, was a smidge over 8lb. And with my own family, Mum had bigger girls than she did boys (I was nearly 10lb and my sister nearly 11, but the 3 boys were 4kg or under). And then I know women who have had decent sized babies for the first two, prepared for a big/bigger third baby and then had a tiny one! I have a friend who is 14wks pg and her first was 8lb4, her second was 6lb9 and she's not sure what to think this baby will be!
