When she was a baby I always waited till she was asleep (which was nearly NEVER) or when DH were there.

NOW neither of us can shower without DD stripping her shoes and socks (not as handy in stripping down completely yet) and getting in uninvited So we just give in and put her in the shower with us/DH. I just place the bathmat on the showerfloor, give her a bucket and a cup and she will sit there till New Year's. She will even come and get me off the sofa and get into the shower and tells me "mommy shower" Darling angel!

Needless to say, we shower at night when she is sleeping .. I just bring the monitor in the bathroom with me, just in case she wakes up.

When DD was little i used the baby bouncer with toys hanging from the top...now at 16 months i bring her into the bathroom, close the door, put toys all over the floor and shower with my big toe keeping the screen door closed. She amuses herself by putting all of the toys and the clothes i want to wear when i hop out, into the bath tub! I use to use the high chair too and it was great.

Now that DS is crawling he comes into the bathroom and I close the door and let him play with toys on the floor.
Just a question for those of you who have DD/DS on the floor in the shower, do they slip over at all? I'm worried DS will fall on the slippery floor?
    Thanks!

Adkins - yeps. Most $2 shops have the granny anti-slip mats - we put a couple in the shower and it had a dual purpose - stopped him slipping over and also putting his fingers down the drain grate!!!

DS always showers with us, even if we are both home he will come in with one or the other (usually with dh because i like my shower time alone) and when he was a new born he still came in with us, just couldn't wash my hair unless DH was home cuz i would just put the shower on really low power and wash us both (obviously keeping his head out) but yes if they are active and crawling HOWARDS STORAGE do square shower mats and heaps of places to the rectangle bath mats. up to you but ds has always loved showering with us and still does, if he hears one of us in the shower he is usually naked and in there before we can stop him heehee

I always shower after the girls go to bed at night. They can have a bath during the day if they need one but I like to relax and wash my hair in peace and I really find water relaxing, so to me having the kids in the bathroom or shower would take my relaxation time away.
