Turns out I had to pick up both of mine from childcare today. Temperatures of 38.5 and 39 respectively.

Doctor says it's 'just' a virus so probably not much sleep tonight either. Woo!

See you all in the morning.

I found on those really bad nights, I had to stop looking at the clock otherwise it would just be too depressing!!!! That was mainly with DD1.

Thankfully DD2 is a MUCH better sleeper. But we do still have bad nights mainly when she's sick.

They say counting the sleep you didn't get, is the worst thing!! But it's hard not to hey? Especially when you need toothpicks to keep your eyes open the next day.

I find it much easier to cope with the constant waking when there is an obvious reason. Why can't they just tell you they're sick!?!?!?! I hope your little ones are feeling better today & you had a better night last night. Mine was about the same. DD has a cold & is teething. I'm so over it though. She's cut 3 teeth in 6 weeks & showing all the classic teething signs for about 3 months prior to the first one coming through. There's another one almost there but probably still a few weeks away. DH is taking her to the dr today about her cold/cough as her chest is now really rattlely so hopefully it is just a cold & nothing worse. I think I can expect a lot more of this over the next 12 months since she has just started daycare

Hope your boys are getting better FabFiona.

Last night DD slept from 8pm to about 7am this morning. First night in over a week she's stayed in bed.

    BUT

I went to bed at 10.30. Started to doze at 11 and DH came in to give me a hug and chat. He left me alone and I went to sleep. DH woke me again at 1.30am, snoring like a chain saw. I spent an hour trying to get him to stop and failed. I changed beds and then got chronic heartburn, so took some Tums. Think I got back to sleep around 3am and then DD woke me when she got up this morning by climbing into the single bed with me.

We had a shocker last night. Both of my now good sleepers (has taken a long time to get to this point...) had bad nights. DD woke around 10pm, hot and needing a drink. Done. I went to bed around 11pm. DH was working (stupid love jobs) and didn't get home til midnight. Woke me up, then he went and watched TV and had something to eat ( ) and didn't come to bed til almost 1am. DS woke before then, upset, needed a drink. DD woke again. DH crashed after leaving the light on in our room while I was with DS

1.30am DH snoring. Wind so strong it sounded like it was going to rip the outside canvas blinds off the wall. Every time it gusted through it woke me up. Cat jumped on my head around 3am. More DH snoring. DS woke again 5.30am. DH alarm 5.45am. My alarm 6.15am.

Kids then didn't want to wake up. Grr.

    Zombieeeeeeeeeee.

    And late to work.

DD all night and didn't wander in till 7 - which is sort of usual but the IL's have been with her in her room so I thought she might have a bad night.

DS - Sleep at 8:00 up at 10:15 (at least he waited till I was back from airport run) feed and back to bed, then up at 4:30 so not bad in itself but just bad because he didn't want to go back to sleep so 4:30 till 6:00 was restless sleep with him in bed with us, then typically he was ok from around 6:00 but I couldn't really drift off.

Hope everyone has better night tonight.

I am nearly always woken 4+ times a night, though that is a pretty good night in our house! The last few weeks have been pretty horrible actually and last night is a fairly typical night lately...

    6.30pm, DS2 goes to bed
7.30pm, DD and DS1 go to bed all asleep by 8pm
9.30, DS2 wakes, DH tries rocking him for 15mins but he's asking for booby. Booby and back into bed 15mins later.
    11.30 DS2 wakes, more booby
12.30 DS1 wakes needs to go to the toilet
1.30 (ish) DS2 wakes more booby, very unsettled so I take him into the spare room bed to sleep with me takes about an hour to get back to sleep
2.30 DS1 wakes from a dream, needs to sleep with DH to settle him
3.00 DD wakes to go to the toilet
4.45 DS2 wakes more booby try to pat him back off to sleep for an hour, but he won't go back to sleep so I get him up at 5.40ish and give up on sleeping anymore.
6am DS1 and DD are up and awake.

Luckily DH has been doing alot of day shifts for the last week or so, which means he can help me out with the kids at night. Generally he will get up to the older kids and I just have to deal with DS2. But when he's doing arfternoon/evening/night shifts, I have to get up to all of the kids which is a killer! On nights, a good night for me is getting more than 4hrs broken sleep. No wonder I'm a basket case half the time!
