    As long as she is getting iron from sources that aren't high in calcium as well as sources that are, as they inhibit each others absorption.
    It's the same with calcium and protein which is why non dairy calcium sources are important. Sorry tangent.

    To add the absorption of the iron in the food it should be partnered with something high in vit C...so Tofu (iron) and broccoli (vit c)...or dried fruit and oranges.
    I have been vegetarian for 20 years and had 7 kids and am still extremely healthy...with a good diet and some supplements you shouldn't become iron deficient.
