my baby boy is now 15 weeks. I think we stopped wrapping him about 6 weeks. he would spend the first ten minutes working his way out of it.. he hated it! he now sleeps in the "I surrender positions" with his arms up in the air!
I wrapped until about a month ago... from under the arms though, he always hated his arms being wrapped. I stopped by accident as I hadn't wrapped him one night when he fell asleep so I left him and he was fine. I do however still tuck his blanket in firmly so I he may feel he's still wrapped?

I wrapped Nicholas until he was about 4 months old. I was worried that he would have trouble getting to sleep, so I left one arm out for a couple of days, then swapped over to a Grobag. He was fine afer that.
Well, Daniel is nearly 7 months old and I still am. He has had the odd warmer night where I haven't and he's slept quite well. When it's colder he does sleep very well wrapped, so I keep doing it.
In fact at this very moment he is sleeping and is wrapped.
It really depends on Daniel. He can do either or, but does ultimately sleep much better if he's wrapped.
Blake is rolling both ways now - I'm worried about him getting tangled in his wrap. Lestypuss, have you had any trouble in this regard?
He just doesn't sleep very well unwrapped, so I'm not ready for that transition just yet.
Ashlee. I wrap Daniel and then I put him in one of those "First Years" sleep positioners. He can't roll - especially wrapped. I sleep soundly knowing he is not rolling.
When he comes in to our room for his last couple of hours sleep in the mornings, I bring the sleep positioner with me and put it between DH and I. Stops him rolling, once again, and also stops us rolling on him.
I have no idea what that is, I'll google it![]()
I saw one at YCN. It's hard to explain it. I suppose the best way is: it's like two rolled up towels and the rolled up towels are attached with a piece of flat cloth in the middle. So, the baby lays on the flat piece and on either side has a rolled up towel. That's prolly not a good explanation.
I was in a baby store on the weekend and safe'n'sound make one too. I just cannot find picture of one on the 'net to give you link for.
Xavier was 2 months old yesterday and we are officially not bothering with wraping anymore. He hates it and you would hear a good 5 mins worth of grunting getting those little arms out. plus the other day I got up in the morning he had managed to kick all his blankets off and was more than happy to sleep without anything, so I don't wrap. He is sleeping for about 9 hours each night, and also sleeps in the I surrender positionI love that name.
Yeah, that's a cute position............ I love that one. I've tried it - it's not very comfortable. Plus I keep hitting my DH in the head................. har, har.
We wrapped until about 7/8 months.. and it kinda just stopped over time coz he was escaping and we were coming into warmer months.
He HATED gro-bags, and even now hates sheets and blankets over him, yet was content to be wrapped for all those months.. go figure! LOL. Through this winter I just had to dress him in woollen jumpers and things to keep him warm, coz there was no way he was staying under any sheets or blankets.
I got put off grobags when a friend of mine told me they found his daughter all tangled up in it.. she had curled her legs up inside the bag, and they got stuck! So she had her feet up near her shoulders and couldn't get them back down. Does that make sense? hehe.
Wrapping until 7/8 months tho wasn't a problem for us.. he would still fall asleep in the pram or in the HAB or whatever without it if necessary. But he did sleep longer if he was wrapped.
This next bub is a summer bub tho, so wrapping her might be completely different. We'll just go with what works![]()
