    morning ladies...

hope you all had a good weekend

We went to visit some friends who had a baby late July yesterday - Nicholas is soo small compared to Jordy. Hard to think he was that size And they loved finally meeting Jordy and amazed to see how quickly they can grow seeing how our little man is nearly 4.5 months old

hi all. it's gone very quiet in here again...

its amazing how fast they grow isn't it abs - especially when you compare them to a newborn! I can't believe Jordy is nearly 4 1/2 months - Josiah has just passed the 3 1/2 months mark, and they were both born in the same month - how bizarre! (I know it's logical, but it still seems such a big gap )

Well, all is going well in our house, except we've all been sick with the flu, including our friends that are staying with us. I feel really bad about it - there's nothing worse than being sick on your holidays - and they caught it from us! At least the kids are over it now so they're not being so grumpy.

Has anyone else been sick and noticed their milk supply drop (for those that are b'fing)? I can't remember it happening with Janae, but I can't remember being sick with her either. Josiah's still getting enough, its just taking him longer, and I haven't had the extra milk I normally have to express for when I'm at work. I have enough stored for tomorrow, but if it doesn't change quick smart, I'm going to have to give him formula on Thursday. I know it's not the end of the world, I just really want to keep him on b/milk until he's at least 6 months.

Oh, and on that topic, have any of your bubs started eyeing off your food? Josiah watches so intently every little mouthful that anyone is eating, not just me. It's quite amusing actually to watch him lick his little lips while he's watching someone eat!

Better go, Janae's just shut herself in my room, where Josiah is sleeping, who knows what the little mother hen is trying to do to him!

    Hope everyone is well

I know all about the licking lips and eyeing off Bel... jordy started it a few days ago

actually its almost like he has discovered his tongue and what it can do

oh and earlier we had this HUGE 3 way laughing session. Jen was trying to be serious, but he'd laugh which would make me laugh, and hence her laugh too. Was the best fun ever oh and of course, it'd make him laugh harder too.. he has just the best little laughing sound... its soooo cute

it's so gorgeous when they laugh. Josiah was belly-laughing at the lid of the letterbox banging the other day. Janae thought it was great fun and kept opening the letterbox and letting the lid drop and Josiah would let out this amazing laugh every time. It was very cute after he'd had such a grumpy day!

oh, and another brag (I love BB, nobody minds you bragging on your baby, coz everybody does it!) Josiah "crawled" across our queen size bed yesterday morning. I put him on his tummy on one side of the bed, and he pulled his little knees up and pushed himself forward, then kept doing it until he reached me on the other side of the bed. I was very impressed. Especially seeing Janae hated tummy time with a passion when she was this little and would just have a fit after 30 seconds and not try to roll or anything.

got to go and change a dirty nappy

well congratulation to Josiah massive time there Bel

its official, Jordy now has had his first script filled. The script has gone into his box of goodies/memories... he has "croup". Apparently there is a fair bit of it going around Sydney... Jen diagnosed it from her reading of a book, but took him to a doctor this arvo who confirmed it. But he's not sick, just has a bit of a dry cough - is still his happy otherwise healthy self - something the doc commented on

    Hi everyone!

It has been quiet in here, I have been sick all weekend with a cold. Luckily Abbey hasn't got it yet and fingers crossed she doesn't. She is laying here asleep on my lap atm so cute.

Bel...Yea on Josiah "crawling" that is so good. We often find abbey halfway across the room when she has been playing with her toys, but thats on her back. And the laughs are the best aren't they, Abbey is so ticklish. As for my milk supply, I don't think it dropped while I was sick but I did try and express a couple of times and couldn't so maybe it did. There are some recipes in the breastfeeding threads on boosting supply and fenugreek is meant to work to.. Good luck with it and hopefully you can keep feeding.

Abs... I checked out your photo's and Jordy is so cute and he looks so much like you.. I too can't believe how quickly it has gone. Was just thinking that it was this time last year that I found out I was pregnant.

Anyway, can't remember what was in the other thread so I'll just say hello to everyone

Mum was telling me tonight that there is a new Sesame Street character, a little pink fairy named Abbey!! How cool. Apparently there hasn't been a new one for 13 years. Mum has already planned on buying her one for christmas lol.

Abbey has just woken up so I have to go, she needs a bum change lol

    HI everyone!!
    Long time no chat! LOL
Sorry I havent been on much lately, been full on with the 2 boys. Now where to start?????
Logan had his needles on Tuesday just gone they went pretty well, although he really kicked one of his legs while the needle was in and now has a lovley BIG bruise form it
I have also taken Logan to chiropractor Monday (last week) as he was only doin a poo once a week and really thowing himself around whenever you nursed him, he is a different child now!! has done 4 poos since going to the chiro. He also seems to be enjoying tummy time a little more. The Chiro also put me on some minerals and a fruit only brekkie to help clean his system out as I'am still B/F him, its doin both of us wonders! LOL
We just got back from a weekend away at Rockhampton, It feels so good to be home! It sure was a long trip with 2 kids! 6.5hrs in the car is not fun for a 3yr old! Logan was pretty well behaved but I really wish he would take to a dummy!! He wouldnt sleep in the car unless he had just had a feed..... so we had many many stops along the way.
Im going to put on another load of washing then I'm heading to bed.
Will try and do personals tomorrow!!
BEL- amazing news on Josiah army crawling across your bed!! Let the fun begin!! LOL I havent been sick with Logan yet, but I know if I dont drink enough water I really loose my supply. maybe that was why yours went down also from being dehydrated?? As for food Im going to try and hold Logan out till 6mths to starting him on solids one less thing to worry about for now.

HI Abs, we only go to 140-150 posts before we lock them off, so with the new forums, that is usually only around the 8-9 page mark.

Sorry that little Jordy has Croup. My two eldest have both had it this week and it is just horrible to see them sick. What did your Dr prescribe for him? Erin has either Predmix or Redipred. BTW girls, croups is a very distinctive cough - like a little seal barking noise, not chesty like a cold cough.

    Hey chicksters and lads

Just a quick post to catch up on how all the bubs are coming along, by the sounds of things very well. They just grow so fast, it's so depressing packing away all Amber's clothes that she doesnt fit into anymore and didnt even get to wear! She's just growing so fast. Last weigh in was about a week ago and she was 7.29kg and 64.5cm. She had her needles yesterday aswell, and she was a little princess - no crying and was perfect all day. I seriously could not ask for an easier baby.

Well, our house finally sold (well udner offer) so Amber and I will be moving to Perth on the 8th Sept and Tim will be finishing up things up here and coming down on the 14th - so Perth chicks - I'm looking forward to catching up, I know no one in Perth with baby's! I am so sad about leaving my Mother's Group up here, we've all become really close and have started a netball team to and have an absolute blast!

Anyway, hope everyone is doing really well and will catch up again soon!

that perfectly describes the Croup cough Sherie - it is very distinctive

Um, he was prescribed something penicillin based - amoxyl?? ( i know the spelling is way off )

    Hi everyone,

Abs - sorry to hear that Jordy has croup, I hope he gets better soon!

Theresa - I hope everything goes well with Em's appointment!

Sooz - good to hear that your house has sold, where in Perth will you be moving too??

Not much news for me, the little man has a cold and is having real trouble breathing, he is still quite happy though!!

I am off to gymbaroo this afternoon, Tyron just loves it!

Hi to everyone else, sorry someone has just decided to make his appearance for the day so better go and get him ready!!

    Hi all,

great to read that things are going well, though not so good for those with croup.
Caden is eyeing off food and loves propelling himself places on his back, not able to do much on his tummy yet but loves to look around during tummy time. He isn't a great fan of it and starts to complain after a while, when he gets grumpy on his tummy he then starts trying to roll.
He is also definitely eyeing off our food, makes me feel a little guilty for eating in front of him but we are hoping to wait until he is 6mths before we start solids seeing as the BF'ing is going so well.
DH has started back at work and I hate it. He is away for 7+ days at a time and it isn't much fun dealing with a baby 24/7 without anyone to give you a break, can't imagine how people do it by themselves and with more than one child!
Anyone got any advice on the sleeping thing? Caden has gone from sleeping 930 - 6 to 1030pm until 4am. Can't work out why he has gone backwards after doing so well? Thought I might try and put him down earlier and see what happens.. maybe after his 8pm feed... rather than waiting and feeding at 10pm as well??? any suggestions????? We have a great night time routine which means that when I put him down he goes straight to sleep but for some reason he has stopped sleeping through. Nothing will settle him at 4am except for a feed?
    anyway gotta go, Caden's calling!
