When I am unsure like you are right now I call Nurse On Call, I think it's only Vic but I think there are others that are National. They can assess over the phone and tell you whether you need to get her checked or if you should monitor overnight. Personally I would just be checking her temp every 30 mins or so and if it seems to be rising then get her checked but at the moment her temp is not really that high that you would need to rush her off. xox

Personally I wouldn't be too worried about the temp itself at this point, but I'd get the bite checked out. Hope she's okay.

Thanks heaps. She is sound asleep i will duck in soon and check it again. It was 37.2 when DP checked it and when i did it it was 37.4 so unless he didnt do it right but ill check it soon.

I wouldn't be concerned about that temp at all. It is not high or even unusual.
As for the bite, wait and see - if she isn't fussed by it, and you can see no other reactions (face swelling, trouble breathing etc) then I would watch and wait.

I take note if the temp is over 37. If it goes much over 38 I give panadol. If the panadol doesn't bring it down after a few hours or it keeps going up, I'd get it checked out.

But if your mummy instinct is telling you something is wrong, go and get it checked.

The temp isn't anything to be concerned about. 37 is normal body temperature.

The bite though, if you're worried, go and get her checked out.

Normal temp range is up to 37.3, so if it showed 37.4 I wouldn't be worried either cos I always account for user error for me anyway. Definitely 38 and above I get concerned for sure. Also... some kiddies can get a slight rise in temp when teething... is she starting to possibly teeth at the moment? You might not be able to see anything yet, but maybe they're starting to move a bit? Just putting it out there. With the bite, like others said, if it's not changing or causing problems then it's probably ok and maybe mozzie or something like that.

As for when should you go to the doc... I always go if I just have a bad feeling... like something just isn't sitting right... and there's only been once or twice where it's been nothing at all. So, if you feel you should be going, then go so it'll ease your mind.
