Matilda was sick with streaming eyes & nose on Monday & Tuesday. Today she has a nasty cough (second day of it) but its all loose. She still has some sinus issues but not running like before. She hasn't had a temp since Monday morning.
BUT yesterday she started getting very active in the arvo & today she's jumping off the walls, literally.
I so want to go out & get her out of the house because she's obviously stir crazy, but I don't want to share the germs either. Argh...
It's horrible when you are stuck in with a sick child. All mine have had some kind of tummy bug so we have been stuck in. Today is the first day none of them have been sick.
A walk sounds like a good idea and at least the germs shouldn't be past on.
Yeah, a walk sounds like a great idea, Christy. Isn't that sort of illness spread by droplets? So like if your kids were to cough on someone, or get snot on them or something? I would think if you guys just didn't get within coughing distance of anyone you wouldn't pass it on...
Christy, I know how you feel. I feel like there is always some snot or red eyes or excema or runny bottom in this house.
BUT, if I stayed home each time any one of them were sick, we would literally never go out.
SO, I have a few back-up plans that are good to get out of the house but minimise the risk of sharing the germs.......
1. All buncle into the car with a fave music CD and have a car concert on the way to a little treat.....for us this is driving to the beach (30 mons away) for an ice cream and a runaround
2. The park......we have a couple of "bushy walk" parks (ie loads of intersting stuff for a nature walk but no play equipment.....so no other kids, LOL!) adn we do a treasure hunt......(ie give them an enviro bag and let them collect rocks, leaves, flowers, pine cones etc etc)
3. The library......we go to a further out library which is massive (less claustriphobic and close for snot germs) and less kids.......and they pick out books. Often this is one occasion where I bother my own arse to sit down with all 3 of them adn read to all 3.........I am better at doing this when there are no household domestic distractions.........
Not sure if any of them are a good idea?
Or, and I may do this this afternoon.........a picnic in the garden.........complete with shell and sand and water......and tupperware and ripped up newspaper & they 'cook" for me.........messy, but fun.

Thanks!! We went for a walk to a very boring park & had a picnic on the grass, then because there were no other children we wandered over to the play equipment area where Matilda climbed like there was no tomorrow. I let her play for 30 minutes and then we walked home. Its a beautiful day up here so I'm glad we got out of the house... She isn't sick enough to have a nap though
