No poo for over 24 hours?

Hayley hasn't had a dirty nappy for over 24 hours now, I'm starting to get worried... I've read that b/f babies often don't need to poo every day, but she is getting a mixture of EBM & formula, so with the formula I'm assuming she would need to go more often. The last poo she had *sorry TMI!* was a little firm, not runny-ish like her other poos have been. Could she be constipated or does she just not need to go yet?

The home-visit midwife suggested on her visit a week or so ago, putting 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar in her bottles. I did that with one bottle last night, still no poo...should I try it again, just leave things be, or go to a dr?

I am no expert on poo but i would probably see what happens over the next 24 hours or so. THen if you are still worried call your mchn or dr for advice or call if she seems distressed. You could try to get things moving by gently laying your baby on her back and pushing her knees up to her chest back and forth a few times. DOnt stress, it is normal for no poo for a few days.

BF babies can go up to a week without poop(sometimes more).
FF babies can go up to two days (sometimes more).

I personally wouldnt be adding sugar after only one day... I'd be giving her 2-3 days unless she appears to be in pain from the constipation.

    Is her tummy soft?

I agree with Sally I would not suggest adding sugar at this stage. Continue as normal for the next 2 days.
