MNB- If your treating his hair tonight babe i would send him. What treatment are you using? It should kill what's in his hair, and then use a nitcomb to get the eggs out. (i still pick through the hair as well but a good nitcomb should get alot out)

I would let him go - he'll be gutted to miss it. And you can always shave most of his hair off before the party if you're worried. That will be good to stop re-transmission even at his daycare.
