sorry had a hectic day! Ok, took him, had it xrayed. Everything is perfectly fine but she said some times it can take a few days for it to show so come back in 10 days to follow it up.
Its really painful for him. He fell on it earlier & OMG the poor kid was howling for a good half hour,
he is dosed up on panadol & nurofen. Poor kid. he white as & not eating much.
Poor little man. FJ if it is still really bad in a few days i would take him back. It is true that it can take a few days for a fracture to be seen on x-ray, but it is more like 48-72hrs.
Pale and loss of appetite sound like the pain is pretty bad. 10 days is a long time to be in that much pain.
FJ once when i was about 10 i fell up a set of stone stairs (don't ask! falling UP the stairs) and bashed my shin up real bad. It wasn't broken but the bone did bruise quite badly (you can't see bone bruising, it's IN the bone, but apparently bones have really good blood supplies, i know someone who nearly bled to death from a broken thigh!) and it really hurt to weight bear for a week or two. I ended up with a big calcified lump where i'd hit it which slowly went away over years - i've still got a wee knobble there now! Anyway it wasn't at all broken, just bruised, but it did take a while to heal.
Hope he's feeling better really soon.
Bx
yeah i THOUGHT 10 days if it was still really painfull was a long time. I would probably take him back on monday if its still this painful.
Hoob, im thinking (hoping) this is what has happened/ I can manage 4 kids but not sure I can if one can't walk seems one of the 4 is a NB, another is a runner!
I got my mum to come help me today.
Awwww poor little fella. Take care of you too, and if you realise you put your undies on the OUTSIDE of your jeans....its cos you are supermum xoxoxoxoxoxoxo!
FJ Could be muscle damage, that is agonising pain. Poor little fella I hope it heals soon for him!! NOT FUN!!
poor little man
hope he sleeps well tonight.
He slepts well & says its feeling better this morning. Not sure if he walked onit though, DH was up when he got up.
My nephew (6 yo) fell over on his arm, cried for about 30 min then was fine. He had a birthday party, pushed is younger sister on the swing and even went swimming. 5 days after the fall he was complaining that his arm was hurting so my sister took him to the hospital. The nurse looked at it, twisted it, said she did not think it was broken but if my sister wanted an xray they would do it. Turned out he had a clean brake through one of the bones but they called it a stable fracture. It only started hurting again because he bumped it and it was now out of allignment.
You really can never tell!
Yeah its stories like that that make me worry. His xray is really clear & while I am obvioulsy no expert I have looked at many xrays & I can not see any sign of a break.
He has worked out he can get around by crawling everywhere its rather funny.
But he is milking it big time. get me this get me that wah wah wah if you don't jump at his every comand. Getting a little sick of it LOL
maybe he bruised the bone, I know that hurts alot. I have done it to my wrist lately and it hurts whenever I put weight on it! Give it time, just beacuse there is not brake does not mean that it still does not hurt. They do love the attention don't they![]()
sounds like the poor love has a toddlers fracture, he def needs to have an xray, even if it is just to put your mind at ease :-)
ETA sorry just saw you got it xrayed yesterday :-)
can your GP organise to have the xray looked at by a radiologist? sometimes they can email the images, there are some fractures that are very easy to miss.
The xray was done at the radiologist & the report said there was no bone abnormalities.
I then went back to the Dr's & she said to follow it up in 10 days.
Im watching him now play, he isn't walking on it but he is scooting around on his bum & putting some weight on it as he moves. Obviously not thinking about it LOL.
It is obviously very painful for him. Poor kid, I have passed on my genes. I was known as LIttle Miss Bump as a Kid.
Ouchy ouch.
Jesse had a few times where he's hurt some part of his body and seemed the same. Last was his wrist. We thought it was broken as he wouldnt let anyone touch it or come near him. I think he may have hurt it but was also too scared to move it thinking it would hurt again. But in time he must have just sprained it or something as it came good.
Hope hes on the mend soon.
