    2.5yo nap-time tips

My 2.5yo DD has decided day naps are no longer for her even tho her eyes are popping out of her head. As i also have a 9.5mth old i cant spend an hour or so taking her back to her bed or laying with her and i cant have her screaming the house down just because she doesnt want to rest.
Ive tried just having quiet time but it means i spend the whole time DS is asleep taking DD back to her room...its driving me mental and cos i at least want her to rest. i feel like putting a dvd on is too much like normal daily activity, if that makes sense. plus, since my DS is waking all night, i'd kinda like an hour or so during the day to myself...not too much to ask, surely!
    So...any tips?!?!

sorry I dont have any advice - my DD1 stopped having a day nap shortly after she turned 2
the only consolation is that now shes in bed by 6:30pm and is always asleep by 7pm - no fuss!
maybe just quiet time in bed with some books?

the only thing that gets my 2.5 year old down for a day nap is to go for a drive. i'd maybe try a book, or cuddle time with some soft music on....

Just subscribing to this thread - I have a 2yo and we have just started having issues with day time sleeps. I was interested in everyones responses.

Taralee - I entirely understand about needing some down time to yourself during the day. I feel exactly the same way. I think it is my daily piece of sanity. My kids have stopped napping at the same time (they did until a month ago) and they tag team their sleeps. I can't believe how much more tired i am now at the end of the day because I have no time to myself.

Sorry, I don't have any advice, but wanted to say and hope it works out and your DD will at least rest for you in her room.

What about a bit of bribery - 'you stay on your bed until this clock beeps (use a timer) then you can have (whatever)'. Start off with shorter periods and work up to a decent amount of time for at least a good rest. If you're lucky she may fall asleep waiting...
Good luck, I hope you get some mummy time soon.
