    Baths or showers?

My DD is 14mths old and I usually give her a bath every night. But now that my belly is getting so big and my back is getting sorer I'm finding it really hard to wash her hair and just to kneel there and play with her in there. She really loves her baths though. I can't really bathe with her anymore cause the bath is pretty small and I can't move fast if she slips etc...and It's not so easy to get in and out of the bath myself let alone with her. I get pretty strong BH when I do too. DH bathes her when he is home which is a big help, but he's often not here. Some days if we haven't done much I don't bath her, just give her a wash and change her.

I have tried the shower with her, but she slips over all the time. I can put the non slip thingys down for her to help. She also isn't so sure about the water spray on her head and she can get the door open and lets the water out all over the floor. But it is easier for me to do it. Though I don't do it often. Only when I'm despreate!

SO do you bathe or shower your kids? And what should I do???

DD1 has been having showers since she was about 8 months old.
DD2 showers since around 3 months old.

Perhaps you can have a shower and put some toys on the floor for your DD to play with...with the water spray on her hair, maybe dont direct the shower head on her, but rather let water dripping off your body wash her.

    Showers are sooo much easier!

Baths twice a week and showers the rest - our bath is huge and uses a lot of water, also awkward for me too hence the showers.

Bath here - he loves his bath time - Daddy sits beside the bath and entertains him while I cook dinner.
He won't do showers - just cannot stand them.... dunno why...

My 2 have showers every second day and a quick wash the other days! I find it a hell of a lot easier to let themcrawl around my feet with toys than to fill a bath for them which is too high for me when i kneel!

A couple of ideas tht might help.

Grab yourself a step stool and you can squat beside the bath, good for labour and nicer on your knees.

We have a shower attachment which connects to our taps (cost about $5) I use this to wash DD hair in the bath and close the shower screen and let her play with it which she loves

non slip bath mat inside the bath

my DD has learnt not to slip and how to cope if she does, not that I would ever be more than arms reach away but she bathes with her big brother and had to be tough.

    All the best

Kellie, just do whatever works hun And don't feel at all bad if she misses a wash, even a few times a week! It's not at all neglectful, she'll survive Just look after yourself, and don't go stirring up those BHs too much yet!
