My DS has been hit and miss with his day sleeps since about 28 months. Some days he has one, some he doesn't. But I still offer one! I was not at all ready for it, I thought he would sleep every day until he was at least 3. But I can see that some days he truly doesn't need it, and he actually copes pretty well without, so he mostly knows what he's doing . The other days he may have a usual sleep of 1.5-2 hours, or sometimes will have a catch up one of about 3 hours! I'm now quite prepared for this go on for some time (I hope it does!), and I guess he will just gradually have fewer and fewer day sleeps until he is having none.
