Some wont retract till 5 or 6 years old. Whatever you do, don't force it - it will losen on its own over time naturally and also with him giving it a good old toggle too ROFL. My eldest DS didn't start to pull his back to clean until he was about 5.5yrs and we'd never had a problem with it before that (or since)
DS does it himself ( when I tell him too while in the bath ) but his still slightly attched ( a tiny hair like attchment near the tip ) but have been told that its ok and will go back on his own in its own time ( DS is almost 9 ) if not back by 10 I will get it checked out again I would hate for his 1st time DTD and have it rip back ouch!!!!
My DS is 3 in march and I don't think his retracts, he has recently discovered his 'Willy" though so I dare say it will retract soon as it's his new fav toy!
I was told you can start from the age of four.
Having said that - my boys started later than that.
It is something they do in the bath and as yet we havent had a problem.
Don't try to do it yourself!!
You could cause some seriouse damage!
It won't retract until they are anywhere between 3 & 7 years old. They will do it themselves when they are ready & thats when you teach them about cleaning it.
It should be fine til then. Daily bathing is enough to keep iy clean.
Like the girls said dont try to retract it your self. Sometimes it wont retract till they hit puberty, all boys are different so dont feel you need to do it! It actually cleans itself which is handy! So no need to wash it everyday. thats what I have read?
thanks guys - I didn't realise it all happened so late - LOL Krisp ! Amazed your DS has only just discovered his - it's a constant battle when changing DS nappy to keep his hands off himself! Not that I have a problem necessarily with it - but its pain when he's poopy!
