Thanks for the clarification, KateO7. I am glad to read it. However, for my MIL, knowing that any cell lines were originally derived from an aborted fetus would be more than enough to turn her off!!
Personally, I am more concerned with the live cells used to culture the other vaccines- monkey's kidneys, bovine calf serum, genetically-modified yeast cells, chick embyos, etc.
These are all very foreign substances to the human body. There is increasing concern about the effect these substances have, particularly when injected straight into the blood stream - bypassing the usual route of administration for infection- the mucous membranes (aka mouth & nose). The way the body develops antibodies is far superior and long-lasting when exposed via the mucous membranes than via the bloodstream - which catches the immune system off guard.
Anyways- this is off topic so I won't dribble on......

Thanks guys! I've got some good statements from you.

I never knew about the aborted fetuses! Makes me even more secure in my decision.

What's the difference if it's already dead?? Its cells. If it will stop my baby getting whooping cough, who is ALIVE, then I will take that.
Also not all 'aborted' babies are aborted because they aren't wanted. Some are spontaniously aborted, others need to be aborted for medical reasons.
You make immunising seem bad when you say it all like that, which it isn't.
If I had to abort my baby, I would prefer his cells go to keeping other children healthy and stopping these horrible diseases from circulating.

And no I have nothing against not immunising.
