Unhappy My baby just accidently got the flu shot!

Arrrgghh!! I took DD to get her 6 month needles and swine flu shot today and the nurse just rang to say they gave her the WRONG shot! They gave her the regular flu shot - the one that has just been banned for children under 5. I am stressing big time . I don't know what to do.... the nurse said not to panic and just keep an eye on her temperature, give her panadol every 4 hours if it goes up etc. How can I not panic?!!!!

Has anyone had their little one vaccinated before they banned it? Can someone please reassure me that my DD is going to be ok. I'm so worried.

    Am I over reacting??

    Thanks,
    Fi

My bestfriend's son had the flu shot before it was banned and he had a little bit of a temp but was fine only lasted a few hours.

I hope you are able to relax soon and i am crossing my fingers that your little on will be fine.

DD had a half dose of the shot before it was banned, she had a slight temp but nothing else, and is completely fine. Like the nurse said keep an eye on her temp and keep up with the panadol

What a scary time you are having, I can't believe they got it wrong, they have to check and double check
    Take care hun xxoo

I just wanted to send positive vibes your way that your DD will be fine. As everyone has said, make sure you keep a close eye on her

It's the children that are susceptible to febrile convulsions that are most at risk. Keep on top of the Panadol and if her temp rises take her to the hospital immediately. The child that died has found to have been from another cause, but the health officials still take it seriously and that is why they have put the ban on until they can have all the finding from the past 3 years of clinical trials in WA. Doesn't mean we should all run out to get flu shots for our under 5's but it doesn't mean we should panic either

My SIL's little one had the flu shot last week before the ban, she is fine.
As the nurse said, just keep an eye on her and give her extra feeds and panadol if she has a fever
