need some advice re. childhood and travel vaccinations

My DH has always been very wary of vaccinations but when DS was born it was decided that we hadn't done enough research to make the decision not to and when with the majority so DS was vaccinated at birth and again at 3.5 months. However after joining up here and doing some more reading we came to the decision to stop there and delay everything until he turned 2 when we felt his body would be more resilient to the onslaught of chemicals. We didn't see the point in vaccinating against diseases which are hardly an issue in Australia as long as you are careful and stay healthy.

However here is our dilemma.....we're planning to go to India at the end of the year, a place where some of those diseases are a very real problem. Now I don't know what to do! DS will be around 1.5 years then, I haven't gone to talk to my GP yet but can he even get travel vaccinations at that age? Has anyone else been in a similar situation, what did you do? If anyone has some advice of any sort I'd love to hear it

If so whats the likely hood of him getting and having any serious reaction to some disease only poor Malnourished kids in India get?
But that's the thing, cholera, hep a, typhoid etc aren't just diseases only poor malnourished kids get if anything isn't someone from Australia, who has never been exposed to anything like that and is used to a certain standard of hygiene more likely to contract this? I mean you can watch where you eat and wash your hands till the cows come home but there is always a risk.

I just feel like I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. I know no vaccine is %100 effective but really how strong is a one year olds immune system? Is having the cholera vaccine really worse than contracting cholera itself? You say not to immunise out of fear, but isn't that the exact reason why you would choose to? Fear of contracting a disease?

I'll definitley take your advice and speak to a natropath or similar. Thanks.
