Squid - it is only given to babies over 6 months old They won't give it under, but the rest of you who are in close contact with him should be enough.
Your breast feeding will also help

We all got ours done two days ago, my DD who will be two in may got it done and she had a few temps that night but for her that is normal when she gets injections. We went and got it done as i work with children and I am pregnant and both of these are highly reccomended. They gave me a leaflet to look for sideeffects so i was not concerned. They also will not give it to them if they are allergic to egg etc.

I suppose its like anything its a risk to do it and its a risk if you don't. Alot of people are against it but i feel in my situation it was best for my family!! I also think any injection can have serious side effects its just something that you need to deciede if you are to get it done or not! Goodluck

    Hope this helps

Thank you all so much for your feedback.

DH and I have decided to go ahead with vaccinating our boy. DH works in a highly stressed office environment and as a result everyone seems to be sick all of the time. Just seems like asking for trouble if we don't.

    Thanks again x

I have heard that you must wait to have it done with the usual flu shot as it will contain 2 strains of normal flu and one of swine flu. Then you get them all at the same time. It is supposed to come out during this month or April.

We had our shots today (well, the first one of two, for our boy) and I am pleased to report that he grizzled a bit while it was being done and he has been perfect ever since. So no reactions here - he is giggling at me while he plays on his mat - and I am really glad that we have done it. He needs to go back for his next one in a month.

I know that next month the seasonal flu vac will be available, but because the boy has to wait a month before getting his second swine flu shot before he is covered, I wanted to start now, well ahead of winter. So when the seasonal flu one is available then we will all get that one asap.

For any adults wondering, I didn't feel a thing
