I have heard that you must wait to have it done with the usual flu shot as it will contain 2 strains of normal flu and one of swine flu. Then you get them all at the same time. It is supposed to come out during this month or April.

We had our shots today (well, the first one of two, for our boy) and I am pleased to report that he grizzled a bit while it was being done and he has been perfect ever since. So no reactions here - he is giggling at me while he plays on his mat - and I am really glad that we have done it. He needs to go back for his next one in a month.

I know that next month the seasonal flu vac will be available, but because the boy has to wait a month before getting his second swine flu shot before he is covered, I wanted to start now, well ahead of winter. So when the seasonal flu one is available then we will all get that one asap.

For any adults wondering, I didn't feel a thing

    According to Qld Health:
Two doses of vaccine at least four weeks apart are required for children up to 10 years.

    thanks jodi.
do you think it is wise to get one dose of the swine flu vac with MMR at 12 months? or would that be too much for their little systems>?

Hollo - I reckon it would be too much but I am no authority on the subject
