    Wind!! remedies?

My little one has a bad habbit of gobbling. He starts sucking before he is attached properly. This gives us such a tummy ache later, as we swallow so much air. I give him cooled boiled water before his morning feed (his worst feed) but doesnt always help.

Oh, one tip, he doesnt like water, but he LOVES his Pentavite, so I give him a couple of drops of Pent, and while hes mooshing it round his mouth, I give him some water, keep doing this till he's had all of both.

You could try putting him face down across your knees to burp him, so that there is a bit of pressure on him belly.
Whenever Flynn got really grumpy I would give him some gripe water. You can get it at Coles in the baby aisle. Flynn would gobble it up and it usually made him fart.
    Good Luck

Thanks for the quick reply. Gripewater gives him the poohs, and doesnt help that much.
will try the cross the knees thing tho.

    Hi there
Hannah used to suffer from wind pain and so i took her to a Bowen Practitioner - it cost me nothing. She recommended i use some Schuessler Tissue Salts Oral spray (you can get them from the chemist) Acid neutraliser. I found that it worked quickly and did the trick for Hannah.

Have you tried a warm bath and cycling his legs?
Also Infants Friend or Infacol can sometimes help and there is a product called Donnalix but you need to talk to your Dr before using it.
Good luck and i hope he grows out of it soon for you.

Another suggestion is just to push his legs so his knees press into his tummy. Not hard but definitely lift his bottom off the ground a few centimetres.

Also firmly rubbing his tummy from chest down to pelvis also worked for us.

INFANT's FRIEND! It is really effective and every baby I've seen have it LOVES the taste - get it from chemist about $9 for the bottle.

Fennel tea!! If you are breastfeeding that is. We have been using infants friend for a while (works quite well) but while on holiday in the Netherlands our bottle broke and we lost it all. So we tried the Dutch remedy which is fennel tea (a cup a day for me); works a treat for us, bubby is a lot more settled and happier! See if you can get hold of it, I can't get it in our country town, so my mum sends it over.... HTH

We had bad wind for a while and the only thing that worked was a pretty unorthodox method of burping. We would put her belly on our shoulder and then rock her backwards over it. Firm hold all the time of course. It looks a bit strange but it worked. We tried Infacol and Infants friend and gripe water and none of it worked for us. We did the over the knee thing too when we were out in public cause it looks a bit awful hanging your baby over your shoulder.
Good luck and I hope you find something that works.

For our DS we found that, Marinas Mixture works fantastically!
I have also recently discovered that if I put him on my shoulder and kind of bounce up and down while patting his back, that we can get some of the nasty wind up as well.

You know, I went into chemist warehouse (or whatever it's called) and asked about this stuff and he insisted you need a prescription (tool).
So I've bought it online, and hopefully it will come in the next day or two.
Thanks for your help, I'll let you know how we go

Brauers Colic relief did wonders for us. It's a homeopathic line available at chemists.

I second the brauers - worked wonders for DD. ANd xp had terrible wind pains once - gave him a few drops and it came straight out! Magic stuff.

    Hi Nic,
Nice of you to ask. I did, but idiot me left it at a friend's over the weekend so will have to pick it up
It would appear 'master j' is teething again, though so I'm not sure it would help while he's dealing with that.
I'll let you know once his gums have settled
