DH buys his lunch every work day but other than that not often, maybe only once a month so about $250 a month with $50 being the dinner! I think the key to changing this is having readily available options that seem appealling. I try to freeze small portions of leftovers for days off/me to take to work and plan ahead for 2 easy meals at home. So we often have eggs/beans on toast of a night for dinner. I also on occasion try to do a takeaway style meal - so wraps/souvlaki/home made pizza or even oven heat and eat fish and chips. This is partly because I am sick of spending lots of money on take away and then not even enjoying it as well as the health benefits, personal and budget wise. I have tried to get DH to take lunch but he is not a fan so I don't push it although it does add up.
