I really feel for you. This happened to us except it was for 1 whole year that Tru Energy didn't issue a bill and then gave us a whopper $2k one when they finally got their act together.

Every time I called to find out what the problem was and to find out how much we were being charged (we had moved into a new home and I had no idea what our energy consumption was and therefore how much to allocate for electricity in our budget), I was told one tall tale after another (all totally different) and they just wouldn't let me escalate the issue.

Needless to say, I have changed electricity providers because after being lied to so many times, I just don't trust them. Their "apology-for-the-inconvenience-discount" was like $45, which I just found insulting...

I have real sympathy for you and I hope you get it all sorted out in your favour. I just wanted you to know that Tru Energy has done similar things to a whole heap of people

Sambo- I thought as much. Thanks hun

Suga- I have no intention of trying to get my electricity for free. Thats the whole reason i called in the first place to ASK for my electricity bill. My problem was whether or not the bill would be accurate, however as a PP pointed out to me (thank you!) I now understand that the bill would be calculated from the reading taken when i first moved in, plus the electricity used since then

Yea they go off average from previous usage, so could possibly be lower than what u use or also a lot higher depending on the ppl that lived there before.

At our previous house we moved out about 3weeks b4 end of lease and a few months later we got a bill for the electricity for that house (most of that time the new ppl were living there) they realised their stuff up as we were still with the same company and they had details of the call i made when I organise electricity for the new house and asked them to stuff off at the old place, they just stuffed up the shut off, they then ammended the bill when i asked how they would know what was mine and what was theirs they said they went off other averge bills, which wasnt fair as we were no longer in the house most of the time so not using any electricity at all. In the end I just dealt with it and paud it, i was too busy as the time to argue and it wasnt that huge

I hope this bill isnt too bad for you and if it is I would take it further if you dont believe its accurate
