not sure what is cheap in canberra
there are a few cheap places here in YASS with self contained units etc... some are not so nice looking. canberra is pricey from what ive seen so depends what you want to dish out.
i would be happy to meet a group at the airport etc however i am part of the breakfast group so depends...

I got a good 4 star hotel rate through CFA corporate rates - $156 for a twin room at Rydges on Capital Hill, so split between 2 of us it's not a lot. The other (non corporate) prices I saw for 4 stars were about $200+ for a night, so something like a motel (Formula 1?) should be a lot cheaper and still be clean I looked up both sets of prices to see just how much benefit it would be to use the CFA member thingy, as once I went to book into a Best Western and they had a far better deal for just walking in!
Anyway, a normal motel like a Best Western shouldn't cost too much and I love them because they ARE clean.

Ok, I'm going to jot this down in my diary.... and see if I can come along... no promises yet. I would most likely fly up so would like to travel with other BB members... I'll check out the VIC thread now.

Kitt3n, Country Fire Authority - they've got a team that works on volunteer benefits with businesses in the community, and there are some really good ones for us out there! And no worries about sharing - I should have clarified, I'm sharing with my GF and her 1yo DD Unless Bath wants to kip with us, in which case I'll upgrade my booking for a room with more beds!
Try the Zuji website for hotel/motel deals.
