    Hi All,

Thanks for all the great wishes for the little man! I am finally home - was supposed to be discharges this morning, but forgot to keep an eye on wet nappies, adn wasn't sure if he had done one, so was kept in until he wee'd. Got home about an hr ago.

It was an unreal birth. As Bec said noone wanted to even look inside me, so really we had no idea what was going on. She did a bit of a poke around at 3am and said 3-4cm, and the back labour hit really quickly. I jumped in the shower with Shane, and 4 contractions later I needed to push! We pushed the buzzer and she arrived very quickly to tell me to let it all happen itself.
He was pushed out and in between my legs (with a slightly wet midwife holding him) and we just sat on the shelf and cuddled for a while. Lots of skin contact with warm towels over us, and I got moved to the bed where I delivered the placenta everything still attached.

It was a surreal experience, very, very gentle and calm (except for crowning - man that hurts!!!!!) and the first pain relief I had was a shot of morphine for the afterpains at about 4:30am.

Best go - the little man (and he is very little at 2595g) is calling for more boobie.

Great to have you back here Fi. And woo hoo for it all going so quickly for you. Makes up for Jenna's birth hey.

Crowning hurts like nothing else, doesn't it. And those afterpains are a shocker. Hate to say they get worse with each baby. Well, they did with me.

Can't wait to see some pics of your handsome little man.

    Big kisses to all

Didn't have to fight that hard Kelly Thats what made it even better
Shannon - have just found out from Shane that the cord was cut before the placenta was delivered. Not that it matters much, but wanted to set the record straight
I still can't believe that my fanny feels so good! It just goes to show how much trauma there was last time round that I didn't even realise had had the effect. Chairs that I couldnt sit on for 2-3w last time, feel completely normal. Its amazing. And even better - no after checks on it. I guess cause there are no stitches noone needs to see it, which means my pants stay on during the midwife checks.
    Its all good
Christy - makes it tempting to go for a third when it turns out well huh?
