Its so sad that there is this "big babies can't be birthed" mentality in society. I really do believe its not about the size of your baby, but the effectiveness of the birth. So if you aren't working with your birth, or working to achieve the most out of your birth of course it may not be as easy for someone who knows all about positions and effective birthing techniques. I was told by a previous ob that there was no way I would achieve a vbac, that after having a 9lb baby (Paris) it was certain that my pelvis was too small. So I changed obs, my second ob told me the size of the baby doesn't matter for he has seen a woman struggle with a 5 lb baby and a woman push out a 10lber with ease. We need to stop focusing on the size of the baby and focus on the way we birth our babies.
