My baby has been 3/5 engaged since 32 weeks. It is painful! Baby is now 4/5 engaged... so I wouldn't think it means you're going straight into labour sorry. I don't find I can walk very far without a rest now because the pains I get in my cervix are too much.

    Good luck

Haven't read all the replies but just wanted to pop in and say that you don't have to be completely engaged to go into labour My DS never engaged until my waters broke and I'd already been in active labour for 15 hours! Then of course he just went straight down lol!

So you could go at any time! Good luck. Oh and also nipple stimulation worked for me!

    Mwahahahahahaaa!

I had the accupuncture the day my waters broke because the hossy said I only had 48 hours to have him before they induced me. They do 2 types for birth - one is to help your body to get ready and the other is to bring on labor. I had the latter at about 9am and was having irregular contractions at 3 30pm-ish.
I think they recommend you start with just preparing you body then progress to the actual induction later on.

My accupuncturist (um is that a word?) said it usually takes 2 or 3 sessions for the induction treatment to work. So you might be in for a couple of sessions.

i tried every way possible to bring on labour! haha in the end i was 12 days over due and they were planning on inducing me the next day, but apparently the threat of being induced made him decide to come out naturally, with a very quick 2 hour labout he was here lol.

however, nipple stim did bring on BHs so did the S&S (when i was post dates) but i did try accupressure? i dunno if you've heard of it or tried it but its similar to accupuncture only instead of needles you press certain points with your fingers. i tried it at about 3.30pm and went into labour at 10.45pm and bub was born at 12.48am. couldnt have been the hugest coincidence but it cant hurt.

From the time I was about 2 weeks pg if anyone touched my nipples I wanted to punch them! Seriously like over sensitive to painful, was like that for all 3 pregnancies so yep pretty normal, well for some of us anyway lol

You know now that you're waiting for Monday you'll probably go before then

i was reading the other day what a IM had to say about natural induction methods... just leads to frustrating & draining prelabour.

    So true.

My suggestion is to just get on with your day to day stuff & try not to think about it.
