LOL Nelle, you know RCH has a Maccas??? Was my saving grace when I was in there with DS
I loved seeing the birth, how amazing to share that with so many people. It did seem very weird to me, I was VERY vocal during my birth, not because I was in agony and traumatised, it really did help me through contractions to make lots of noise. (Those who know me IRL would not be surprised by that statement). And mum looked very awkward in that position. I too was desperate to see the baby feed, and for them to just leave the baby alone and on her mum's chest!!! But you're right Nelle, time does get skewed after birth
.
CharlieBrownGirl, there are downsides to having an epi, and before you decide that it's what you definitely want, there is plenty of reading you can do to inform yourself of the risks to yourself and your baby, and the pros and cons. At the end of the day it's YOUR birth and YOUR baby, so totally your decision. I had an epi (not for pain relief as such, circumstances dictated the need for it) and I will be avoiding having one again. I was not a fan.
